What is one good way to stop yourself from wanting to cry(read on)??

Yeah you need to cry hun , just let it out ( it isn't childish or immature to cry ) , I'm sorry that your having a bad spell at the moment , but things will get better ( cliche i know ) , its true though , if you have one or two really close friends maybe having a girly night in and a good old fashioned (no-holds-barred ) chat , which might prove to be productive. Also a change in surroundings/routine will help with your mood , is there anywhere you've always wanted to visit ? ( if so , just GO ) . alternatively you could try your local Gym , it is proven that physical exercise has a great effect on peoples mood , and is recommended for people with depression ( and it gives you a healthy buzz ) . Most of all believe in yourself , dark clouds always lift xxx
yep, I have the same problem, I do not want to cry in public. Biting your lip really hard works for me.

There is help from peole who understand. I would go to my GP -it is amazing what and who they know, when you need them. There is really good help out there that will make things seems alot better quickly -but as in all things in life, you have to ask for it!

To be honest..I'd have to disagree hon. If you are feeling down and in need of a good cry, then just let it out. You may actually feel a little better by getting all off your chest.

What I do is just get it out. There have been certain situations in my life where all I want to do is cry. I am not the type of person who cries in front of people so I will lock myself in the bathroom and just let it out. If it takes me an hour worth of crying then so be it. The more you try to hold it in, the more you are going to need to cry. So what I suggest you to do...just go lay down in bed and just cry,cry,cry..Cry as much as you can until you can't cry anymore. This will make you feel better and you won't feel the need to cry anymore.

you also need to get to the bottom of what is making you feel like this. Did something happen in your life that is making you depressed? Are you taking a new medication?
I started taking Welbutrin once to try to quit smoking and I cried all the time while I was on that stuff.
If it's from meds...talk to your dr.
if it's from something going on in your life, think of ways to either get over it, fix it, or deal with it. If this is the case I would really suggest talking to someone about your problems.
I have had to and like I said I am not a crier in front of people but I started seeing a therapist and my first appointment I broke down and cried so hard in front of him and it felt good.
Also Please don't think crying is immature or makes you look like a child.Even the toughest men and women in the world cry sometimes.
breathe in deeply a few times and if u have any around, drink a little bit of water or something...it helps calm u down a lot...
Its called acceptance of reality, or something you are having to face in life now, and yes its a shock to all of us, Dont think about feeling a little girl as deep down we are all still that baby and need the protection. Crying is good it realeases all those emotions so do that, We all get a low point and some more than others but can i say, try living the NOW and that means not the future as its not here, not the past as it has gone but live for the now of all things that are going on around you this moment and this saddness will cease, promise.

crying is very healing, very healing..you're lucky you are able to cry becos crying is a beautiful way to release emotions & pain & trauma..it will help & don't supress your feelings for anything..
the only time to supress your feelings is if you'd hurt someone by them (inc.yourself)...
cry as much as you need to, do it alone if it makes it easier...

Sometimes we need to cry, crying can be therapeutic and good for you to release emotions. it is not healthy to bottle things up.
Maybe you need to let yourself have a good bubble - we all do it, it is not a sign of weakness.
Dont be so hard on yourself and i hope things get better soon.
Im not sure how to stop crying but whatever causing u to cry I hope it resolves itself soon and u feel alot better soon.

to be able to cry sometimes is a talent , it releases all the tensions that build up. its natures way of releasing pressure and refreshing the spirit.
Go for a run so that you get sweaty and there is no more water left for tears
