How can i get to sleep faster?
Answer:
I have the same problem sometimes, especially during the school year when I think to myself, "Okay, I have to get up at 6. I need to fall asleep, I'm only going to get x hours of sleep."
That doesn't help.
You can't think about it.
Close your eyes and let your mind wander. Something will pop into your head, and you'll think about it, and that will lead you to something else.
You'll be relaxed during that, and you'll just drift off.
Another thing is, daydream.
You know, imagine something you'd like to happen, or something that could possibly happen. It's like making a little movie in your mind. Daydreaming, with your eyes closed.
That can also help take your mind off of falling asleep.
Take something like a dose of Benedryl or another medicine that will make you drowsy before bed, too.
Even though you think it won't help, it will, if you're relaxed.
turn off your computer
Possibly your problem might be that you ARE trying to fall asleep, and that will never let you go to sleep. ( kind of like... trying to stay awake ) What you can do is try to forget that YOU want to fall asleep.
You need to relax and stop thinking that you need to go to sleep, because you will not do it. Try to think of your plans or something different. It helps.
i know..i know!!
u have to count from 100 to 1 (backwards)!!..(u can even move on to negative numbers if u still can't sleep!!)
it works on me..i hope it works on you too!!
good luck..bye!!
Take a shower, melatonin and drink milk. Get comfortable and turn lights down and noise off. Read yourself to sleep, this always works for me.
knock yourself out with your fists or a hammer
Well have u tried Prescription sleeping pills? After 7 pm, No caffeine. They say that this is the time that people should be winding down. Take a warm bath . Drink Some Warm Milk. Read. If u have a Tv in ur bedroom. Move it out.
well, you can drink milk with lactose ' unless you are lactose intolerant' count sheeps or watch some tv 'cause it makes ur eyes feel sleepy .
If it does not work, then maybe you should only eat 70%of how much your stomoch can hold during dinner .
Good luck to you and wish you the best!
Well what I do is Read book for a while until i feel my eyes getting drowzy-ish.Then I stop reading..getting a banana(wich i heard helps you sleep..?) then just watch the weather channel.Which is Very boring.and I mean VERY
Reduce caffeine intake and other such things that disturb sleep. Try eating more carb rich foods, rice+yogurt for eg.
Dont take any drugs/alchohol/caffeine after 3pm in noon.
Eat a lot of rice, drink warm milk in the evening before going to sleep. You can also try massaging your head with some nice oil (natural not those paraffin based) coconut for eg.
Get a perfumed warm water bath before sleeping.
Just totally clear your mind. Do not drink any coffee or anything with caffeine. Try listening to music. Sometimes that helps for me. Also, sometimes the T.V. helps me get to sleep.
Work out and Drink Milk
Wake up earlier and then go to sleep earlier
1. After dinner, you go for a walk up to one kilometer and have a glass of milk and then go to sleep.
2. Take The Bible and read Psalms 23, 46, and 91 then go to sleep.
break your sleep cycle if you have the time to do this.
Otherwise work out until you are too fatigued to do anything else.
Don't do anything else on your bed but sleep. Don't lay on it to think, meditate, watch t.v., read, or anything else but sleep. Also, make sure that when you wake up you GET UP. Roll, jump, or fall off your bed as soon as you wake up. Lingering in your bed only makes your body think that it's okay to hang-out when it should be sleeping.
listen to slow music, or read..
u don't have to turn the lights off, u can even sleep while sitting down.. just make yourself comfortable, and when your body needs to sleep, you will fall asleep.
Also don't drink coffee or tea or stuff with caffeine..
goodnight!!
Here's a trick I learnt from a class I once did in self-hypnosis:
Turn out the lights, close your eyes and wait for a picture. As soon as you see something, associate with the picture so you become part of it, and say to yourself:
I see x. (i.e. I see a beach)
Repeat this three times, looking at different things. Now, feel what's happening to you:
I feel y. (i.e. I feel the sun on my back)
Repeat three times, feeling different things. Now listen, and say to yourself:
I hear z (i.e. I hear birds)
Repeat 3 times.
Now go back to the beginning and repeat the whole procedure x2, for seeing, feeling and hearing. Then go back to the beginning and repeat x1. If you're still awake after this, start again at 3, then 2 and 1.
