Is happiness in our control?
you cant control when to be sad, you cant control never to be sad
is it the same way with happiness?
by genetics and how we have matured, is there a set amount of emotions, happy, sad etc no matter what we are going to feel?
i mean sure some things make you happy... but after a while those arnt going to make you happy are they? it will eventually get old and boring..
i think you guys get what im saying :) well do any of you know the answer?
if you have 1 m&m your happy
if you have 20000 m&m your not happier... your sad you ate that many.

I believe that we can choose to be happy and/or contented with our lives. We can consciously decide to live in the present and not allow the lamentations of the past or ruminations about the future take control of our thinking processes.
So, yes, we can choose to be happy, but to only a certain level. I believe that we are genetically programmed with the potential to achieve a certain level of happiness. We cannot exceed that level. However, we can choose to live at the highest level of our potential for happiness. For most, that is quite enough.
to a certain extent, some of the time, happiness is in our control.
But chemical brain imbalences, certain personality disorders, etc - those people have alot less control over their mood and happiness.
it's in your control when you understand the key to life,
which states that we seek nothing but only happiness.
everything else in life are nothing but reasons which you think would make you happy.
we are all doing nothing all the time except "just moving to happiness" think of it
if i have 1 m&m i will be happy, because it tastes sweet and is colored. but if i get 20000 i won't be happy if eat them all because they may harm me , instead i will decide to eat 20, save 200 for future consumption, and give the rest to my family/friends , which is the best decission i think it would bring me the most happiness i request.
i study to be happy , i want people to be happy because this makes me happier .
i sleep to get rest, feel healthy, be fresh the next day, which will pour into my work,relations,.etc and at the end all what i get is just happiness. i hope i was helpful
