Why do I feel like my past is so much better than my present?
Answer:
so go do something exiting.
i know what you mean, i think like that too
I often feel the same way. It's because we're older and we have more life behind us, then in front of us.
Times were simpler and with far fewer distractions.
It's selective memory. Even though my last job seemed like pure misery at times, I often think about the good parts of it that I miss. Just keep in mind that life today will be tomorrow's 'good ole days' when life seemed simpler...
People have a tendency to remember good things instead of bad. Sometimes, when you think back on things, your brain sort of picks out all the high points and, while you do register that there were bad times, your mind kind of dulls them. You realize there was a lot of hard work, pain, frustration, stress, and whatever, but it’s always, the accomplishments and the fun breaks that stick out.
It's not just you, many people feel this way. We tend to look at our past as memorable, we forget most of the bad and remember alot of good. 10 or 20 years from now you will probably look at today as a happy time.
