Will self isolation make a person phsycotic after awhile?and give them phsycotic thoughts?

and if the person starts socializng again, will the phsycotic behavior and thoughts stop?and will the person mentally get back to normal?

Answer:
Short-term solitude is often valued as a time when one may work, think or rest without being disturbed. It may be desired for privacy.

Long-term solitude is often seen as undesirable, causing loneliness or reclusion, resulting from inability to establish relationships. However, for some people solitude is not depressing. Still others (e.g. monks) regard long-term solitude as a means of spiritual enlightenment.

Symptoms from externally imposed isolation often include anxiety, sensory illusions, or even distortions of time and perception. Young humans tend to adapt better to isolation than older humans do. Pioneering research in this area was done by McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

I'm a self-isolated person; I have yet had nary a psychotic thought, tend to get on the paranoid side, that's not from my self-isolation; it's more of a defense mechanism.
Self isolation will not make a person psychotic.
Talk to a shrink. However, I would think a person would have to already have mental problems if he is going to isolate himself from the rest of the world.
they say if a person is isolated they will become insane but if it is that it is self inflicted<---(dont know if thats the right word) i dont think you would turn the least bit psychotic!
It depends upon the person's coping mechanism. Everyone is different and not because one has been in isolation for quite some time will he have psychotic behavior etc.
