Obsessive thoughts ruining my life?

How can i stop them?

Answer:
Learn meditation or yoga, learn how to slow the thoughts down , observe them and empty your mind of them if you need to, get back in control of your mind and you can make it help you rather than feeling like it is running away from you! You might need some classes or a book, and it might take some practice, but it is really worth it in the long run. Hx
Hang yourself.
i have this problem too. its doing my head in. please help us someone.
Go see a doctor, and get mental help.
If you can't handle it yourself, best course is to seek professional help.
tell the doctor he will refer you to the mental health team, maybe some CBT.
Seeking a therapist or a psychologist will help stomp out the problem. If you cannot handle it on your own, that's what I suggest you do.
1. Read this book

Overcoming Obsessive Thoughts is structured as a self-help book, for readers seeking to overcome the tyranny of obsessive thoughts. The book is crafted artfully by a duo of distinguished authors, who have been immersed, researchwise and clinically, in the choppy waters of obsessive-compulsive disorder for over a decade. Coauthor Purdon is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; and coauthor Clark is a Professor of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Over the course of this relatively terse primer, Purdon and Clark prove to be highly adept craftspersons with respect to creating a fairly detailed road map for navigating the treacherous labyrinth of obsessional thinking. Particularly for readers tormented by obsessive thoughts, the copious information proffered by the book may have immense practical value concerning the overcoming of their obsessions.

2. Try taking a herbal supplement

Herbal Treatments – Certain herbal supplements such as kava, valerian, ginkgo biloba, and St. John’s Wort may be beneficial for mild cases of OCD. However, the effectiveness of these alternative OCD remedies has not yet been rigorously tested.

3. Take up yoga

4. See a therapist (go to your GP, They will be able to refer you)

I really feel for you, my brother had OCD, I hope you can overcome it and find some peace within yourself.
Anafranil medication is one of the best things off your doctor,
if he thinks you need it(give it a few weeks to take effect)-he may advise therapy also.
cut out junk food, like sliced bread laden with preservatives and chemicals, avoid anger and stress.
If it persists or gets worse, you may consider borreliosis / lyme disease which can cause OCD and its symptoms-many doctors are unlikely to tell you that, but its a fact.
I have this problem sometimes too. I try to bring myself back to the moment, what is happening right now at this minute. x
Try focusing on something positive that'll keep your mind of your obsession.
It really is all in the mind!
Whatever the mind thinks, it is difficult to get rid of, that`s why I am always instructing people that when religion, for example, is drilled into a young and receptive mind, it is extremely difficult, sometimes impossible to get rid of what you are first told or taught and, whatever conclusion you and you mind come to, it`s difficult to get rid of the image and no end of persuasion or other will make you see or think different.
However, with all the foregoing in mind, you can now convince yourself that what you thinking may not or could not be true, give yourself a good talking to with logic and soon you will get rid of those stupid thoughts.
