What is the difference between high self-esteem and conceit?
Answer:
attitude
self esteem can fluctuate a person that is conceited is stuck on themself and they think that they are the best in the world
I think the difference is pride. If you think your great, good for you. If you think you're better, boo.
conceit is worse, it seems like you are trying to rub it in someones face.
self esteem shows in what you do without you telling .conceit is being showy and feel you have something to proove to others!
Sometimes not a lot. I guess it would be success, that would be the defining factor. I conceited person would thing that they should be the best and get the best secuase of who they were. A person with high Self-esteeem would think that they will reach the highest goals becuase they well work to get thier success. I hope that makes sense.
I believe to have high self esteem means that you are aware of your value as a person and are content. To be conceited is to use your self esteem to try to show others that you think that you are better than they are, which in turn shows insecurity. If one truly has high self esteem, they do not need to "show" it to others. It will be self evident in their actions.
Self esteem means you have the inteligence level to master many things, and your confident with your knowledge. Conceit means your insecure & you feel you have to brag about things all the time to make yourself feel secure, and build yourself up for other peoples attention.
Self esteem is what comes from inside yourself...your natural way of presenting yourself.on the other hand conceit is when you go beyond your limits and exaggrate your self presentation... ;)
Simply put, the difference between knowing your just as good as anybody(self-esteem), and believing your better than anybody(conceit).
I'm no better than anybody, but NOBODY'S better than me.
The ego...with high self esteem, you feel good about what you contribute to a world larger than yourself and with conceit, you are the center of the universe.
Other's interpretations.
A simplistic way of saying it would be that if you have self-esteem, you're happy with yourself and you know that you're as good as anyone else. If you're conceited, you think you're better than everyone else.
