Unconscious Consciousness?
Answer:
Actually, your conscious mind is aware of what is going on, since you are partying, talking, eating, and doing a whole variety of other things, which likely would embarrass you, if you were to see it all on video. Your conscious mind has lost the inhibitory function of the frontal lobes, but the neural circuitry of the everyday brain is still driving your behavior. Speaking of driving, in some instances, individuals in alcohol related black-outs are doing dangerous activities, like driving, risking both their own and others' lives.
So, the real answer is in your question! Revisit the type of black out that you are talking about. Any ideas now? You are not describing a loss of consciousness, but rather a lack of memory. So, despite all the Yahoo replies implicating the "subconcious", you actually are conscious AND are not encoding the experience in memory as fully or as well as you might if you were not intoxicated. Alcohol is a neurotoxin and does compromise brain function with memory circuitry being especially vulnerable to its effects. Drink too much and you lose consciousness and run the risk of losing your life as well.
Sobering thoughts, eh?
your subconscious
It's called the subconciousness, innate intelligence, objective conciousness... there are many other terms for it but those are the ones I have heard the most. It is exactly what keeps your heart beating, stomach digesting food, blood filtering, and many other innate processes that we often take for granted.
your subconscious.
yeah, probably the subconscience.i have no clue, thats my best guess.
