What type of personality would be best suited for a career in graphic design? Why?

This is for a high school project.

It would also be helpful if you could name emotional/physical requirements and stress that comes with graphic design.

Answer:
A creative, imaginative, dreamer who can meet deadlines would probably be ideal. Communication skills would be a must since you're often turning someone else's vision into something concrete. An ability to take criticism might be important since you can't always get in someones head and tell EXACTLY what they're visualizing.

Stress may come from deadlines. A lot of artists are not good with them!
Self-motivated.
If you mean psychological profile ala the
Jung/Myers-Briggs/Keirsey thing, I would
imagine it would be an
Introvert, so concentration on a project is natural;
iNtuitive, as an abstract, limitless imagination is crucial;
Feeler, the gamut of expression is based on empathy;
and the last function could go either way:
Judger, because assignment deadlines exist;
Perceiver, within the artistic, more options must be detected.

<<Or, if you mean overall personality traits, I would better
assist you by suggesting you go into the YahooAnswers
Business/Advertising section, and in there, people will
address from within the field.

Maybe even from within their offices!

Hope I've helped.
