Even adults can cry because of physical pain? Have you experienced something similar?
Some time ago, during a school trip, our maths teacher, suddenly slipped and badly injured her ankle (at the end it turned out to be broken).
I have to admit that I was upset seeing her on the ground sobbing like a baby, she who is the most authoritarian, self confident and strict woman I've ever met, and who can make us scared with a simple glance.
Probably I was puzzled because of my parents who have been always repeating that "big girls don't cry".
Do you think this is true?
How do you react to physical pain?
Answer:
dont u know . physical pain makes u cry ... ur nerves will giv a painful stimulus and will u eyes will shower immediately .
by wat ur parents said probably is coz dey want u to b brave and face any situation with atmost capability so tht u will not have the necessity to cry
Laugh evry moment . Cry wen u can .. Lifz isn't just abt 1 thing ... its a mixture of emotions . Life Live King Size my frnd :)
well some physical pains are just unbearable, broken ankle like in your teachers case must be one of those, its BONE after all... i think a grown man would cry too!
another one is appendicitis... theres no "big girl, big boy" here, the person will be rolling on the floor crying because it can be very very painful
and pregnant women can cry while delivering
She cried because of the pain and because something happened that she didn't have control over. Nothing can be more devastating than an accident to someone who wants to be in control at all times. This shows you that after all she is just a human, too- not a robot. When a pain is so extreme, our mind shuts it off... which is why you hear about people not realizing they've been shot- for example... until way after the fact. in her case it could be that the incident- the pain- triggered for her to let go of her inhibitions and succumb to being just like you and me and let it all out. This happens with people who for example never cried when a loved one died... but when put in a different situation, all of a sudden the unexpected happens- the person cries, because as a human being, you can only suppress so much.
How do I react to physical pain? I scream my head off, but I don't necessarily cry. but when it comes to emotional pain. my tears just run down my cheeks uncontrollably- even when I try to control it. This happens when I attend a funeral... it could be someone I don't even know, but I can relate to the pain of the people who are grieving (because I lost loved ones myself)... my eyes and my heart cry and cry- but you don't hear me sobbing... because I too am a control freak.
It can all depend. Different people react in different ways. Some emotions can be tied in. I remember in high school slipping, falling and skinning my palms. I couldn't stop crying, and was irritated that I couldn't.
In my mid to late 20's, I started having some weird problem with a finger. If I hit one fingernail wrong, I would get such intense pain that my entire body would lock up (all the muscles in my body would tighten hard), I would end up on the floor in the fetal position and would eventually black out for about a minute before waking up in just mild pain.
I don't remember crying during any of them, and this was the worst pain I've ever experienced.
In martial arts classes, I've taken certain kicks or hits that hurt a lot. Some caused me to tear up a little, some didn't.
It might also be a sex thing. Guys are taught to never cry - you're wussy if you do. I don't know. I guess it varies for everyone.
