Why is it whenever I read something, could be anything, I get bored so easily and almost fall asleep?

Please no mean or insulting jokes. I find this a big problem of mine especially when I try to study a subject. I do have interest in the subject and want to learn, really do.. but something like for example History or math etc, I try reading a paragraph and before I know it, my eyes are done with the paragraph but I didn't absorb anything and I end up needing to go back and read and reread what I read.

Any suggestions on how to boost interest? Not sure if it's interest that's my problem I do have a desire to learn, but why can't I read anything once?

I see people on airplanes reading novel after novels and they never fall asleep, or students studying at the library for hours on end, and here I am 5 minutes and I have trouble.

Please help suggest what I can do?

Answer:
..The key is not to boost interest. The key is to read only material you're already interested in. And if you find yourself falling asleep, you're probably tired. Just take a nap and you'll feel better and more alert for reading.
