Personality defines who you are. Without personality you are cardboard. Most animal pets have personality. Every human being develops personality.
So everyone is unique and not the same. That would be boring wouldn't it.
Personalities allow for the human race to respond to situations with more efficiency. For example, it would be impossible for everyone in the world to be leaders... society would just not work, at least not the way it does now. Personality may also be tied to the egoist view of existence which may or may not define how reality really is, some sects believe that ego is actually like a blind cloth in front of our eyes, blinding us from the real beauty of the benevolent universe which allows for existence itself.
