If crazy was a waterfall...?

Once a person goes over there's no turning back. Can a person find normallity again if the variables that drove them over are left behind as well. Or is the roar of the fall always load enough to hear?
I think its like being on a boat with a person that nearly drown. I'm hoping, however, the overcoming of the thing wouldnt leave one a different person.
