When you kik horsers for them to wallk on why dise it not hurt them??

Answer:
You shouldn't have to kick them that hard in the first place, but if you do it souled be softly and a horse has very think skin and doesn't feel as much as a say a human does. Usually a horse will be trained to go with a clicking or kissing sound and you should only resort to kicking as a last resort.
I would imagine it does hurt them. Maybe not terribly but we can't know that. Maybe they are trying to get away when they start walking or maybe they know what you expect from them and start walking so you'll stop kicking them.
Or maybe they just notice that start waking = stop the kicking.
You can never tell with horses (as Winnie the Pooh used to say about bees)
It shouldn't have to be more than a tap with the heels, along the lines of someone tapping you on the shoulder to get your attention.
Spurs may hurt tho.
Really, i am a horse rider...
THANKS FOR THIS NOTATION AS I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THAT but i think that you can do this softly because the horses are very pianissimo.
