Why am I afraid to get close to people?

I'm afriad their not going to like me and talk bad behind my back.

I am the same way. It's a trust issue. You're afraid of being hurt. Maybe a person or people hurt you in the past and you're afraid of that happening again so you keep you're distance. If you ever want to talk about it you can IM on yahoo or email me.
Could be a trust thing. Maybe you dont trust them to understand. Also it could be a selfish thing where you use people and like to keep them at safe distances until they are needed. How about a control thing where if you cant manipulate them, you push them away. Just a few possibilities from my own life
have you ever talked behind a persons back? everybody has. it's just life. don't worry about people talking behind your back until it really happens. and when does then you'll know their not yopur real friends. confidence is key. ; )
