How to use the secundary reinforcer on a avariable schedule ratio of operant conditioning?
Hello everyone im from Mexico and im studying for falconry. if i
intend to make jump my bird im suposed to click and treat after every
single jump, but when i move on to a variable schedule i am suposed
to do it randomly.
Now mi question is am i suposed to click and treat on a randomly
number of jumps?,ex:
1st jump click and treat
2nd jump nothing
3th jump nothing
4th jump click and treat
5th jump nothing
6th jump click and treat
7th jump nothing
8th jump click and treat
9th jump click and treat
10th jump nothing
Or am i suposed to click everytime and only treat randomly?, ex:
1st jump click and treat
2nd jump click
3th jump click
4th jump click and treat
5th jump click
6th jump click and treat
7th jump click
8th jump click and treat
9th jump click and treat
10th jump click
excuse me if i am not clear enough im not that good at english but thanks a lot!!!!

Your second answer is closer to the mark. I prefer to catch them being good and get results. If I ignor I make no eye contact and give no treat. Ring the bell and they will expect reward, or figure you are asleep at the switch.
