If you wake-up during a nightmare, is it not possible to have another one during the nite?

I was wondering about this... When I have a nightmare and wake up during the night I find that when I go back to sleep I dont have another one for the rest of the night.. So if you wake up during a nightmare, is it ever possible to go back to sleep and have another one?

Answer:
Try stating your intention before falling asleep. A simple choice is a powerful thing.
"I choose not to have nightmares tonight."
"I choose to have an amazing dream which will inspire me tonight."

I have had amazing results.
Yes, it is possible.
No, because when you have a bad nightmare. You won't dream at all. (Not at REM point). If it's a light one, chances are you won't wake up. Plus most bad dreams happens when you need to wake up (Washroom... ect) If you go to the bathroom, you won't need to wake up again. But, I'm sure some people experience it anyway.
I'd have to say yes.
I have had what they call night terrors.

I've had one after another on some nights, so yes it is possible. Sometimes it's the same one continued, sometimes it's a different one.
I had never really thought about it before, but ur right! i never have two nightmares in the same night either. but, i do sometimes have the same dream in one night, or different dreams that are similar or connected.
Yes it is possible to have a nightmare in the same night (I've experienced that many a time). You probably have forgotten about what caused the nightmare thus letting it go.
