Why do people fixate on "Why Me"?
Answer:
Because we are bombarded with media and messages of what life is "suppose to be like" and find that our life doesn't always measure up to that. We see other people getting those things we want, but seem to find difficulty in actually getting.
It all begins with envy. That suffering you're talking about is one of the result that comes from that "deadly sin".
A lot of people are truly not aware that whatever they're going through--so many other people are also going through, or have been through.
This is especially true of younger people as they have not experienced as much in life--and are prone to believing that what's happening to them has never happened to anyone else in this world.
Because we're all selfish and think life should be perfect... and when life isn't perfect, we think that bad things only happen to us. I think it's really just because people don't realize that life sucks in general, for everyone.
What would be the purpose of life if we didn't have to deal with bad things? There's nothing to learn in everything going perfectly... people just don't understand, I think.
