To do, or not to do?

We are at college and have a double lesson of Business with the same teacher, except one lesson is first period in the morning for an hour and the second lesson is last period for an hour. In between this double lesson we have a five hour free period in which to do nothing.

We are debating possible strike action for a lesson to make the point that we dont like having a 5 hour free period.
The lesson in the afternoon is always a bit pointless because its the afternoon and after a 5 hour break no one can really be bothered.

So what do we do?

Try striking and get told off?
Try talking to our teacher and get told no?

What would you suggest?

Thank you!
Gary

Answer:
Perhaps there is a reason for the time gap.

You are a student currently. When you get out into the "real world" similar situations will occur. You will have a choice. Whine and protest about it or deal with the situation and make a best effort.

Good luck & study hard
get drunk , in your 5 hour period , or the sensible option would be to start a petition and present it to the teachers
Its rubbish having such a big gap, i know people at uni that had a 5 hour gap and they usually went back home to sleep and then came back, although i personally couldnt be bothered. I wouldnt 'strike' as this wont do very much, and when you think about it, timetables are hard to change as they are made to fit in around everything else the teachers have to teach. Maybe ask if the teacher could do a longer morning session if they don t have anything else on, explain your lack of enthusiam when you turn up at the last session as this might spur them on to do something about it.
That is the question. Why dont you asask him what is going to be the content of his after noon lesson and study up duruing your time of. then go in and teklol him you have done the work and walk out. that should teach im.
i agree with the above post (not the getting drunk part!) try starting a petition and see what happens from there, however the teacher may not be able to do anything about it as they may be teaching something else
good luck
talk to your professor, maybe he has an obligation at that time, or maybe he's willing to compromise. Unless he's being ridiculously stubborn about it I wouldn't strike, but I would talk to him before a strike occurs.
sorry but it was properly the best way they could work the time table out
use the time for doing course work
Hi! First things first! Try talking to your teacher and only then,if it turns out to be pointless,go for the strike. You
can only take step 2 after trying step 1,right? Some tips for the talk: be emotional. Let him know that it's not just a whim of yours,it's vital for both you and your colleagues, since you know you get distracted after such a long free period. Whatever you say, give a reason,ok? If none of the solutions work, well that's none of your business (couldn't resist the pun...)
