What is amnesia like?

Answer:
Depends on the type of amnesia. I have suffered from two types, trauma and head injury. They are very different.
The trauma amnesia is caused by an event so traumatic,
shocking, and hurtful that the memory starts coming back in nightmares in small bits and pieces. It can take years just to remember one event, or something can trigger ones memory,
and one can remember the whole week the event occurred.
Head injury is different, where as one does not even remember, until healing starts, that the injury even occurred-
how it occurred-or even why one's skull feels as if it were covered with a thick layer of mushy fat-or why those awful headaches won't go away! Some educational skills are thwarted, causing it to appear as if one's IQ has dropped into the double digits. And you ask, what is amnesia like?
I'm still trying to write a book about it, but recovering the communication skills needed to help others in this condition,
has taken daily practice, and a lot of hard work. (But I'm one of those people who never give up!)
i don't remember
sorry i forgot
Can't remember.
I fergot :-(
Ummmm....
What is that?
I forget.
I forgot.
When I go bowling, no, the color blue is really, no thats not it either. Oh, I got it. Nope, lost it again. Damn.
It's the best thing in the world. You can have sex with a million people and you don't feel whorish. By the time you're done banging, you totally forgot you did it.
Well a few months ago I was playing in a soccer game and I got knocked down really hard and got a concussion, at the time It was like I was in a dream, I still got up, said I was fine... and then I started freaking out asking if I was going to have short term memory... and I kept asking what was going who won the soccer game kept asking and kept aksing... thats what I was told by my team mates.. I dont remember what happend... still
loss of memory. You'll forget everything. Family, where you live, and everything else will be hard to remember. You get amnesia if you hit your head very hard on something.
I'm not sure. I can't remember.
Gosh, I forget.
Go watch 'the notebook!' It really sucks! What sucks? Who are you? Why are you asking me questions!?
lol. i fergot.
Hi,
I've never experienced it that I know of but two of my loved-ones have. My sister had a problem in her brain which was operated on successfully. For months after the operation however she had difficulties with her short-term memory. For instance when we visited her in hospital she would ask the same questions over and over every five minutes because she'd forgotten she'd already asked. She'd already forgotten other people had been to see her. She didn't really know what was going on. I found it really frightening and I'm glad to say she has fully recovered now. The other time was a loved-one who had an accident and couldn't remember a thing about it. Still can't. I think that's probably a blessing in disguise. Some memories I think are obliterated for our own safety; maybe they're just too horrific to recall.
