What's wrong with me?
Other than a "Chill Pill".... I have tried to calm down, but nothing works. I just can't seem to drive like a normal person.
Answer:
OH trust me you are NOT alone...i get VERY impatient with slow drivers especially when i have a destination to be...i've calmed down a lot tho...i just try to listen to calming music or think about something calm...im convinced no one knows how to drive out there tho...not saying im perfect but i can say im better then a lot of other drivers...maybe you just have a lot of anxiety.i have that problem...one morning i was late going to school and i got into a fight with my mom...well on my way to school im not kidding atleast 3 people cut me off and went really slow...i wasl ike if your going to cut me off dont go 2 mph...i started tailing them and i got even more mad and then i was just sooo stressed out i got really hot and my chest got really tight and it was hard to breath...i pulled over and realized i was having a panic attack...it was very scary especially since it happened while i was driving so since then i've calmed down a little bit..but i def kno what you mean man by those CRAZY drivers!
Listen to a relaxing CD.
sip some coffee or tea while driving...
and most importantly.
go find a girlfriend
there are pills, but usually the type that advise against using heavy machinery
see if listening to the radio helps
i have started not looking to my sides, or in my rear view- for driving yes- but i used to keep up with the other cars aroud me , so much so that i was watching everything but the road itself.
so now i just keep my eyes in front, maintaining about a car length or less (text book , i know)
and my music as loud as i can stand it
and get on with it
Sounds like you have ADD. I wouldn't suggest taking medication for this, unless its really getting under your skin. Many, if not most people have a slight case of ADD. The reason I suggest to not take medication is at times medication for similar problems such as, OCD, Depression, etc have terrible side effects and can often make your case even worse than it was to begin with. I'm not saying that it nessecarily will have this effect on you, but there is a good chance of strong side effects. I would definetly read up about this before making a decision.
I'm interested to see if anyone can really answer this question with a good answer because I'm exactly the same as you. Even if I'm not late, I feel the need to go 45 in a 35 just because there is no one in front of me or, if someone pulls out of a driveway and it's a road where the speed limit is like 50 mph and makes me slow down for them, I get so mad!
