Is calling a person a psycho offensive ? do people call other people a psycho to people who they do not like?

You have to ask yourself the same question? Would you like it said about or to you? I for one would take offense to it as i'm not a psycho i am a human being who has feelings and that doesn't make me a psycho. People call other people names other then by their given name for all sorts of reasons. Maybe they don't understand that person so they then label the person as been psycho or some other offensive name. Without thinking of the harm it does to that person. Also it depends on the context it is been used in. If it's to do with the psychology terms then it is not offensive as such.
Of course it is offensive. People have called other people psycho when they did not like the person.
Personally I don't see it as offensive.
Throughout history, so many who were considered outside of their minds, insane or psychotic were only looked at this way because they embraced new ideas and unheard of theories.
For example, Christopher Columbus and the Wright brothers.
The world was round and he was insane for thinking otherwise, and those Wright brothers were psychotic to think that man could soar like the birds...
I think that people call other people psychotic because they are intimidated by them and by their thoughts.
There seems to be a thin line between "psycho" and "genius"...
(except for people like Charles Manson. Then there's no genius involved; merely spontanious stupidity.)
I personally don't take offense to it cause I think most of the human race is psycho, including myself, and they just haven't figured it out yet. Hope nobody takes offense to this posting. : )
