What is the need of being social?

That is the only thing that differenciate human being from animals
friends keep you from going insane
so you can know when to be ... anti social
Well it's important to have friends outside of he internet. It IS
hard to meet people, depending on where you live. Go to a coffee house or a men/ women's group and make some friends. I can tell you are shy. Get out there Who's shoulder can you cry on on the net? Good luck.
So that you can help each other.
Most of the time, in todays world, we are "unhelping" each other.
The instinct to socialise is to "feel" accepted. You may not be genuinely accepted but you want to "feel so".
because man is a social animal
human species is a social animal...?
if not social, we would have been living in jungle till now. because we are social, we could jointly think, we could exchange views and with both the above could reach upto this stage!
For survival- when humans lived in hunter- gatherer socieities, there would have been safety in numbers. One answerer said it deferentiates us from animals. this is not true. lots of other animals are social also, eg most monkeys/primates (which we evolved from)
The need of being social may be..
We are living in a society.
We are social 'animals'.
We won't be able to survive in this world without being social.
