The lioness-the poem I wrote for my son when he came off heroin 6yrs ago..?
of pure emotion
My head was filled with dark commotion.
Where did you go?
What did you see?
It's selfish-
But did you think of me?
I too plunged in that world you found
A world so bitter, so profound.
A world I'd hoped you'd never see
A place where you could not find me.
My love for you could not be measured
A Son's love.
Alway's treasured.
For a time your smile was sadly missed
A smile like an angels
Tenderly kissed.
Like the sun and moon in the sky
The times I watched those days go by.
Your pain, your sorrow
Was killing me too
To see someone so loved
Go through...
Hell is the only word to describe
What you must have felt deep inside
But always remember
The pain and the sorrows
For the new beginnings
Will be your tomorrow's.
This comes from my heart
And you'll understand
For as long as I'm here
And when I'm gone
I will hold your hand
To help you stay strong.
So rest assured what's done is done
In the end
You know you won.

What a beautiful way of conveying a mothers unconditional love for her child. Sometimes people you love make mistakes and your love is tested to its limits, but to be a parent means that your love will remain strong for that person until they have the strength to make the right choices and decisions. Well done and I hope he is still clean and you are both Happy.
