What state of mind would a 25-35 year old be in?

If a man had lived alone since he was aproximatly 6-8 years old, had to fend for himself, learn to cook for himself etc since then, without ANY true human contact.

What state would his mind be in. what quirks would he have, how do you think he would function around "normal" people if one or two came across him?

Answer:
Well presuming that he has no human contact what-so-ever, it is safe to presume there would be language and communication barriers. The person's speech probably be will on the same level as he/she was when was six or so.

It is also safe to presume that the maturity level will be pretty much non-exsistent and that it would be more of survival of the fittest once they met other "strangers."
I've been on my own since I was 13. I'm now 26 and I've experienced close to the same thing and I'm pretty well rounded. It all depends on your maturity level and your decision making. I chose to put the bad behind me and enjoy my life. He may or may not be the same. Everyone is different.
he would have the quirk of scratching himself in his genital area.
he would be nervous i think
Somehow I can't imagine a boy of that age fending for himself under any circumstances. How does someone that age know how to cook? Or even how to keep themselves out of danger? Who paid the bills?

To answer your question however I believe his state of mind would be very primitive. He would be without etiquette, very uncouth and wary of other humans.
Hypothetically. If someone where able to survive alone under those conditions. I'd agree with what Mad Scientist mentioned.

Consider how much your own socialization skills were developed and shaped by your interactions with other people from early childhood through the adolescent, teenage, and young adult years.

I would imagine such an individual would have poor language skills (that's if he hadn't forgotten how to talk entirely). They would behave in not just an immature manner, but in a predatory, primal fashion with survival instinct being their base method of responding to an environment. Since they had no form of formal education, even basic living skills (cooking, hygiene, etc.) would be underdeveloped if not non-existent. They would possess no learned skills such as reading or writing. And since there would be no one else there to teach them how to operate or repair any technological items that would make life easier, the environment would be unused or be lost as a resource. They probably wouldn't be much different than what you would imagine someone growing up in the wild would be like.

Unless in your hypothetical scenario, the place or town they grew up was a controlled situation that is completely automated with access to something like television programming as a resource for education. That might alter or aid in some form of development just by exposing this person to the visual and auditory examples they could see, hear, and learn from. But still, social skills would be stunted.
