What's a lesson you had to learn the hard way?

That no matter what I am ultimately responsible for my life. I am the master of my fate and the captain of my soul.
(that's difficult cause you cant blame anything or anyone...)
I still can't understand to people. i have lot to learn yet
boys are mean and stupid
not to stick chewing gum under the tables at school,cos inevitably i would be the one having to clean it off during my lunch break ,after disrupting the class with my amazing cookie monster impression
Almost every lesson I've REALLY learned, I learned the hard way. I've made a lot of mistakes... seems like it would take too long to list them or pointless to put only one.
That sometimes you can try to do everything right in your life by studying hard, aiming for success, vehemently avoiding making enemies...
and you will still find people who will try to steer you towards ruin and blame you for it.
That is the world we live in. To me, it was a rude awakening. Unfortunately, now I'm just too old make it right.
