Counselling numbers for grief and loss of someone close?

someone close to me recently lost a parent and im trying to find some numbers for them to call. preferably a free one but im not fussed.

If you live in America, try calling the local United Way for a list of agencies that could help. If s/he is in school there should be a counselor to talk to who can give referrals. Try calling the local hospice, too, as they will know of free bereavement groups and may know of a local hotline. You can also try searching at www.guidestar.org - put in your town name and see what comes up. If you have the 211 (instead of 911) service locally, you can ask them. You can also check with your local city government: they should be able to tell you. Good luck!
