Psychology?

Hi I am 13 my name is Brittany and i am exploring all of my posibilties for college. I thought about being a meteorologist or an anchorman but i was just talking to my friend and she said i was really good at helping people. So i am thinking about psychology now. Can you please tell me a little bit about this job and also do you like it?

Answer:
You have to go to school for a long time to be a psychologist. Usually 8-10 years to get a PhD or a PsyD and then a one-year internship. Psychologists can work in a variety of settings. They work in hospitals, mental health clinics, private offices and at schools, colleges and universities. There are a number of different speciality areas. You can work with children, teenagers or adults. You can help people with very serious mental illness or people who are going through difficult periods in their lives (such as the death of a loved one, or the break up of a relationship.) Some psychologists work in schools and help people with learning problems. In hospitals, psychologist help people who have medical problems. Most psychologists find their work very rewarding. One thing to keep in mind is that it is very hard to get into graduate school in psychology. That means you need to get into a good college and do well in order to be competitive. Good luck!
Being a mind control expert (psychologist) puts you in a position of great power. You have the ability to fleece people by pretending you can "cure" them of their mental ailments thus ensuring yourself of a steady income for years. I highly recommend you get into this particular con game. The good news is, you only need a 4 year degree to do it.
OMG I AM ALMOST 13 AND I AM BEEN THINKING ABOUT BEING A PSYCHOLLEST FOR LIKE EVER SINCE THE 3RD GRADE AND I LIKE HELPING PEOPLE AND OK U GET PAID A LITTLE OVER A 100 DLLARS AN HOUR HAVE TO GET A PH.D AND HAVE TO GO TO COLLEGE FOR AT LEAST 8 YEARS AND NEED TO BE GOOD IN SCIENCE.

ALSO THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF THINGS U CAN BE A PSYCHOLLEGIST THAT IS WHAT I WANT TO BE THAT PERSON JUST HELPS PEOPLE IN THE THERE PROBS AND A PSYCIATRIST IS THE SAME THING BUT THEY GIVE OUT PRISCRIMTIONS (MEDICTION) AND GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL TO SO MORE COLLEGE.
I don't think it is a good idea, because somebody can throw you of very easily like your friend.
i think psychology is a very interesting profession. If you have the knack for cracking what people think and what they'll do next, then you have a natural talent as a psychologist. And if you enjoy doing that, the profession could be for you.
My fifteen year old daughter also wants to be a psychologist. A psychologist is a person with a PH.D in psychology. This means that you have to get your Bachelors degree in college, and after college you need to get your Master's degree in psychology and than get your PH>D it can take up to six years after your Bachelors Degree to complete your education. After you get your Ph. D you will have to do at least one year in a Psychiatric hospital or setting before you can practice on your own. It is a very fulfilling job for those who want to help people, but it can also be a very difficult job when you're dealing with abuse issues and other things like that. You can be come a psychologist who deal with children, one who deal with adults or a nureo-psychologist is someone who tests children and adults for learning disabilities and who works with people who have had traumatic brain injuries. You might also consider becoming a ps
ychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in diseases of the brain and who can prescribe medication to people with depression and other mental illnesses. If you decide that you don't want to go to school for that long you can become a social worker which only requieres a Master's degree in psychology. They can also do therapy but they won't be paid as much.
