What does the expression "arguing in silence" mean?

when someone e-mails you this question -- "are we arguing in silence" ... what exactly does it mean??

Answer:
They feel you are mad at them and giving them the cold shoulder.
woman tend to do this,
called the slilent treatment
I have never heard that phrase before, but I would think it would be like giving someone the "silent treatment"..That would tick some people off worse than arguing with them.maybe that person asking the question is one of those people who just HAVE to get the last word in, or can't let it go and have to egg on an argument, cause they just can't stand the other person is keeping quiet.
Usually giving someone the silent treatment or the cold shoulder. Can drive most people crazy!
Putting "you" on a guilt trip...wondering "what you did" or "said".the cold shoulder.pouting!..the unspoken saying it all by saying nothing at all.....thanks
