Why does people press the buttons on the remote very hard when it is not working?

I think the same reason people keep hitting the elevator button when waiting even though it is lit from the first push.
We are an impatient society-first knee-jerk reaction when something doesn't work or we don't get the result we want is to try again-eventually we might try figure out the problem or find another way to get the desired results! I know, because I myself do this all the time.

Ha ha everybody does this and sometimes pressing really hard or throwing it actually makes it work lol
I do that as well. I think i know it needs battery i just can't bother to get it. lol
because we are all to lazy to get up and walk the two steps to turn it over manually...lol
Because they are too tight to buy new batteries.
Lol, or they bash it on the sofa or against the wall
Because sometimes, when the buttons aren't working, pressing them really hard gets them to work.
