Why do we worry about death?

i dont..i have jesus in my heart.
Fear of the unknown?
we worry about lots of things that we dont understand or have never done before
first kiss
first time we have sex
etc
because it just feels so final, don't you think?
Who's worried?
Because we cant let go of the world we know and are so familier with.
i think its bcause its the only 1 thing in life we r sure of but no1 actually wants it 2 happen and no1 knows exactly when its going 2 happen, but can be assured it WILL happen
we worry about death for the simple fact that it seems so final.Depends on religous belief also.
It's not that death scares me, it's not being able to think which scares me.
I don't worry about dying. I worry about dying in pain.
I think its because humans fear the unknown. I fear death because I don't want to leave the people i love behind.
I don't. I worry about losing my mind.
I don't get people who are scared of death. Those who are important and successful in life worry probably the most. I'm not scared or I don't worry about death...
People fear death because they fear that their name will be forgotten.
But I personally don't fear death. I would rather not die, but if it came to that, I would accept it.

PEOPLE OFTEN BOTH WORRY AND FEAR THAT WHICH FORMS THE "UNKNOWN" ,AND, ALSO THAT WHICH THEY EITHER FEEL THAT THEY LACK ANY,OR ALL, CONTROL FOR THEIR LIVES---OR, IN THIS CASE,THE END OF THEIR LIVES, AS THEY MORTALLY KNOW IT, AND, TO MANY, A LACKING OF GRIPS UPON A/THE SENSE THE "UNKNOWN" HEREAFTER!
because it is an unknown.
it is the fear of being out of control.
and because we want to live.
our energy goes towards doing anything to live.
it's our goal.
but then with all that work, fighting to live, struggling to survive, and to be in control of our lives; we are out of control and will die.
anything that threatens us and who we are can set us off worrying about death. big changes, or little changes in life can cause us to worry about death.
so then it's the fear of letting go of something we know as well.
because we don't know anything about it... it's like first day of class where you get nervous because we don't know what'll happen or first job or anything we haven't been into before..
just like what dumbledore said to harry on book six: "it is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more."
we don't know what will happen, we find it hard to leave this world and life we are familiar with
i agree with osama bin lorry (cool name)!! the only reason why people worry more bout death is because unlike the first kiss etc. you don't get a second shot at it! Dylan Thomas wrote 'after the first death there is no other'... and that's actually exactly why people shouldn't and possibly don't worry about death! afterall death is the one thing that's a certainty in life for all of us. so i don't think it's death itself that worries people what worries us all is the how? when? where? or who by? of our dying. so you see it's the act/process of dying that poses the problem..afterall that's the hard part!! but like i always say. 'worry about it when it happens'.. no point stressing your little head over something you've no control over... plus when it does happen it probably won't be as bad as you imagined it would be!! so why worry.. lets all just keep on smiling and enjoying life and all it has to offer.
Please do not presume to tell me what I'm afraid of as it just happens that .

So sorry to be awkward but death holds no fear what-so-ever, its the end that we as a race all share, 3 or 4 Billion have checked out and so will we... so whats the big deal? Why are YOU so special?
All that worries me is the well being of those i love (a very short list) making an * of myself in my life, extreme pain and possibly spiders.
We worry about death because it is a natural fact of living.
I am not afraid of dying.. I love my life and I am glad that I am not going to die ne time soon.. but I am not afraid to die.
Why do you say 'we'? I don't! I believe some people with overgrown sense of self-importance believe that the world will cease to exist if they weren't supporting it, but it is just an illusion/delusion!

dying is normal in our life.
We don't need to be afraid cause someday we will die and nothing we can do about it.
people don't need to be afraid of dying.
I think you may assume everyone worries about death, but they don't. Some people really do worry while others haven't hardly thought about it.
I have always said that if we all knew how great it would be, we would be jumping off cliffs!
I think it is instinctual to want to stay alive in a normal personality. We have built in mechanisms to react to dangerous situations (adrenaline, etc.).
Unfortunately people who have actually gone through the experience of true death can't tell us what it is like.
Death is definately the great unknown.
fear of loosing loved one and leaving loved ones
I dont want to die yet I havent done everything I want to. I have no time to worry about it, I am living too much.
Certainly I discuss it and wonder about it, but I dont WORRY about it.
No one should be frightened of death, living they should be frightened of, and we still live in the unknown also what we make of our lives thats what judges us . Start to put that right and not death.
I worry about death because it is terrifying. I worry about HOW Im going to go(raped and throat slit, shot in head, hit by bus, cancer etc), WHEN (tonight, tomorrow, long drawn out over a few months) WHERE (at home, at work, on a plane, ). I wonder if I will go before all the people I love or will I see everyone else die before me. The pain of the finalisation that you dont know whats at the end of it all. I beleive in God, what if I dont make it to heaven because I stole a Bounty Bar.
ITS JUST VERY SCARY!!!
I am afraid of death because I have seen so much of it.
