When a psychiatrist cons their clients into believing bad things that happened in the client's past is called?

I heard this was a way phychiatrist can make lots of money, and cause lots of confustion for certain people. I could never understand it, but I hear it happens so frequently. Do you know what it is referred to as?

Answer:
I think you are thinking of False Memory Syndrome. It is when a therapist (not exclusively psychiatrists) "uncover" memories in a patient, usually memories of trauma, which turn out to be untrue. I'm not sure that it is motivated by money, but it definitely causes confusion for people. There is debate over whether this actually happens very frequently - memory is a tricky business. There have been reports of this for years.
Very few have been find to be true.

The psychiatrist is a:
My term: Total Jac**ss!

Very, Very, Very Unethical
Insurance Fraud
Medicare/Medicaid Fraud

P.S.
Many psychiatrist are too busy to create work. I keep two appointments a head with mine. If I called today, I might get one in about six weeks.

My psychiatrist is the only that has indicated what my diagnosis is.

There are excellent mental health providers of all levels out there.
Implanted memories. No not quite. It is along that idea. I know what you are saying. The Dr. may put a person under hypnosis and then, (I got it-suggested memories) make suggestions as to what may have happened. You come out of hypnosis and they tell you what was said or allow you to remember it as you are waking up. I don't know the actual medical term if it is deeper then suggested memories.
No psychiatrist is perfect, but it would be extremely rare for one to intentionally mislead a patient. Certainly, not to make more money. If money was the issue they wouldn't have become psychiatrist- instead, some other type of doctor.

But a psychiatrist may feel a patient would benefit if they could help them work through their resistance- not want to face some distressing recollection. I believe is is a mistake to act that way therapeutically, but it isn't a con!
It may happen sometimes, but the reality of recovered memories or delayed recall of trauma has been independently confirmed time after time. In many cases the ones who accuse the psychiatrist of conning the patient or implanting memories are the actual abusers whose crimes had been mentally repressed by the patients.
Normal practise
BRAIN WASHING or false memories and those can be instilled any time
