Have you ever pretended to be deaf?
Answer:
yep
all the time
"your round mike"...
yeah but i never say anything
Maybe you should pretend to be dead
No. But I have learnt abit of signing.
pardon!?
i pretend to be deaf all the time when stupid people in the street yell stuff at me
Oh good for you.
I am deaf in one ear. It is very inconvenient but at times it can be a GREAT benefit,
what?? (you asked for that)
all the time when kids are arguing!!
I tried to pretend I was deaf just to make this creep shut up and leave me alone. But then he started signing at me
Not as far as doing the voice, I used to pretend I couldn't hear. My Mum took me for so many hearing tests and they all told her I had selective hearing. OOPS!!
no. but my husband and kids do it all the time.
I use selective hearing but it's more difficult to be convincing.
no but sometimes i wish i had
actually I did in my teenager days. my mother complained of a very rude and nasty waitress at a local restaurant so my friend and I went and asked for her section. He spoke in high German and I pretended to be deaf... she was so incredibly frustrated by the time we left and we left her pocket change as a tip.
Speak up I can't hear you.
Men are known for their selective hearing. My husband does it and one day I told him that he was deaf so he went to the GP and told him "My wife says I am deaf". The GP then examined his ears and said "No you are not deaf" which goes to show it was selective hearing. He only wanted to hear what he wanted to and the rest he pretended he could not hear!
pardon?
only if someone is having a go at me
pardon!
Tha's not funny. My niece is deaf. She lost her hearing at 3 because of a high fever that burnt the little hairs out of her ears. The first year was the hardest on her! Being able to her her mothers voice one day and then coming home from the hospital not hearing it but only seeing her mouth move. Haveing to learn how to sign while losing the speech you had. Shame on you for making fun of people or "playing" deaf. Hopefully you'll never have to experience it first hand.
Grow up.
yes. but you can pretend and become permarnently deaf .so take care be if you are but not if you are not. If you are playing Yoga well and good
pardon me?
Yes, but only do it to nasty shop people, when they are in a mood with you becuase you are slow packing they shout the amount out, like its going to make you pack any faster.
yep - whenever i get yobs shouting out racist remarks at me becuase my skin is not white like theirs; also when in queing up at the tills in the supermarket &some foul-mouthed single teenage mum is yelling abuse at her kids; also when i'm on the bus going to work & some drunken idiot wants me to move my bag so he can sit next to me & suffocate me with his intoxicated breath..the list goes on but i'm sure you don't wish me to bore u anymore.....hey does anyone agree with my answers??
nuuu..that's sad..i only pretend that my cellphone is offline when somebody get me going crazy
Throughout my life there have been many occasions when I wish I had not heard what I did.
Sometimes I've pretended not to hear a comment because it was offensive to myself or to a colleague.
As a teenager I often presented a deaf ear to my parents.
As a teacher and subsequently a deputy head teacher I presented the deaf ear to complaints from members of staff.
I never presented the deaf ear to the pupils in my care because I always listened to their concerns as often they were legitimate.
So there you go.
EH?! Speak up, sonny, as I can't hear you. Am a bit mutton.
Been deaf in 1 ear for a month, after a perforated ear-drum. It's not funny or clever of you to impersonate anyone with an impediment.
Run along, and don't be late for school
