NOTHING motivates me to live!! I need serious advice?
I am 27 years old and as long as I can remember, I have always looked at outside sources for happiness, when I was little I had to have the brand new toy or I wasn't "Okay" as I got older I tryed every drug, drink, guy, job, weight, hair color and cut, fashion style..ect. Now I have come to terms with this pattern, but I am left with nothing but awareness and crying spells. Now I feel like I should move away, start over somewhere- I have nothing here in Atlanta that motivates me to live, but isn't moving just falling back into my pattern? PLEASE HELP
Answer:
go get professional help.
I have the same problem. Right now I have three kids keeping me alive. I don't know what will happened when they finally move out. Go see a therapist is my best advice. Does anything at all make you happy? If so do it often. I'd be happy to listen if you ever wanted to e-mail me.
Im a be honest with you but this sound like a serious joke.simple
I had this same problem for many years! I was into drugs, sex, and partying. I got to the depths of depression and said, God if you're real I want to know it. I didn't want to keep living the way I was. I wanted to know if there was more to life than that. A few months later I met a guy who invited me to his church. I surrendered my life to the Lord and my life has never been the same. I have no desire for drugs, drinking and all those things that never brought me happiness. All you have to do is pray, and God will direct you to the right place. Good luck! I will pray for you! : )
normally i would lecture u bt im jus gonna tell u 2 c a shrink
This is something I don't think u have tried:

It seems that there are a few problems going on at the same time. The best way to get a grip on what and how you feel is to get professional help. Go to a mental health center. They will evaluate you for meds and counseling at the same time. Right now it sounds like you have some depression going on that can easily be alleviated with antidepressants. Underlying this, there seems to be a problem with your locus of control ( how your feelings are controlled), which can be helped with counseling and group work. Good Luck, you can go and reclaim a happy life.
This is something to take seriously.
Have you considered the fact you may have depression? I will include links here for how to combat depression.
Plus if you can, go to see a medical doctor and tell them how you feel. Do this immediately. There are free clinics that can help you if you do not have medical insurance. Please do this immediately.
Do volunteer work of some kind. When you do this you will start to feel better about yourself.
Act like a happy person even if you are not. Keep telling yourself you are a happy, fulfilled person.
Try finding something you are interested in doing. Something you have a passion for like sports, art, music etc.
Get more physically active, go for long walks, look around you while walking.
Do one nice thing for someone every day.
Start keeping a diary and list at least one thing you have to be grateful for every day.
Get a pet like a dog or cat, fish, etc.
Start eating a balanced diet with lots of turkey, chicken, milk and lettuce. (lettuce is a natural sedative) Eat or drink chocolate.
This is a serious problem so please get medical help as soon as possible. You can also ask your doctor if the above suggestions will help you.
Remember a walk is free and it will help you.
Just buying things and drugs will not help you. This may be a clinical problem you have and should dealt with on the physical, mental and spiritual level.
Please get medical advice as soon as possible. Think of this situation as an opportunity to grow and reach for the stars. You can deal with this.

Right now you can start to help yourself by exercising, watching your diet and make a list of things you have to be grateful for. Add to the list everyday at least one thing. You can start with you are alive. Now add to that.
You are feeling a void in your life. Nothing can or will fill it. I can go into the religious stuff and turn you off. Or, I can turn you on to something real and you may find the religious stuff on the way. What is real is almost everyone feels the way you do. You are looking for happiness outside of you because you don't love you. Stop, everything you are doing right now. Go back in your past, and pin point the minute you started feeling empty. Then search for what/who made you feel that way. Here is the trick, don't blame. Just claim. (unless it was a crime, then seek justice). Nothing that man makes can make you happy. Not even a man can make you happy if you aren't already. Once you pin point the action/feeling in your past that is what you need to replace in your heart to fill the void. If it was not enough attention from your parents, or not feeling like you fit in. But from reading your note it seems like you place personal value on material things, why? Try yoga, release and relax your mind. Open your heart to love, then fall in love with you. Accept what you can not change then learn from it (ie..the past). Change what you can not accept, and grow from it (ie..your current behavior). That woman in mirror deserves that, before you give up on her. You have to much work to do before you give up. Don't you think?
aw someones looking for sympathy, well you aint getting any. if nothing motivates you to live then you should have already been dead. how quick can you fly off the 100th floor building? if its the end well then you have decided your fate. well, what can you live for? or what can you can motivated about?
Well if you need to move than do it move some where that you really like and just start over that might help make new friends and get a new job and see where that takes you if you dont like that move back home.
