Do I have Dyslexia?
Cause if I do have dyslexia I feel hard done by; were is my other dyselxic superpowers?
Answer:
It's not a dyslexia disorder, it's a comprehension disorder. I have struggled with it and also my daughter has. You have to take your time when reading. I use to read the same sentence over and over and finally it would come to me. You have a better understanding by being taught visually than to be taught out of a book. You have to compensate your learning with other methods than what is usually taught in the classroom. Taking notes and bringing a tape recorder to class and taping the class helped me alot. I could always go back and listen to whatever was said for a second time. You also could have ADD. When someone is talking and you are not interested, your mind goes elsewhere and you miss key things that you should have heard.
If you have dyslexia, dont u think that someone would have noticed? Like a teacher?
if you have dyslexia, you would be writing this like this:
:this like this writing be would you ,dyslexia have you if
Well it sounds like you may be dislexic. You should get that checked by your doctor.
A teacher should have recognized dyslexia long ago while you were in grade school if you are under 50, even in the poorest districts.
From your symptoms, it would appear that you do have dyslexia and have struggled all your life with short term memory, algebra (while in school), sequences and reading.
Check the link below to see if your other symptoms match the classic signs of this diagnosis. It can't be cured but a good adult reading instructor could give you instruction on how to read better. Good luck!
