Does anyone else feel that the world is driving itself to an end?

I'm 56 and never in my life have I seen things so bad. Including the weather, people's short tempers, mankind's attitude towards his/her fellowman, the world's affairs, violence, crime, divorce, apathy, etc.
This world, at it's current pace, might last another 6-8 years. The scholars who've studied the Bible for decades, and these guys are PhD's, state their best conclusion is that about Decemeber of 2012, according to the Bible and the interpretation, that the world is scheduled to end.
I'm inclined to agree 100%.
Just think of the present day situation. How much longer can this continue? Seriously?
Each day the news gets worse and worse and worse. I think people can take so much, then they become numb and non-responsive to certain things.
Everything ends. Get used to it and get on with living.
I agree...this generation of young people have seen war most of their lives and terrorist attacks...the earth is not a peaceful place anymore and it's only getting worse. I say all this devastation has made us a very stressed and depressed generation.
It could be seen that way. I mean, the world isn't exactly in pristine condition currently. I think things right now are pretty deplorable, and have been getting worse or have been stagnating. Hopefully this is just ephemeral, as things have been getting worse before they become better. Who knows... maybe the end is imminent... the world is supposed to end in 2012 according to the Mayan Calendar.

I fully agree, I think everyone will be run my the Apple corporation. Think about it, it would be a perfect parallel; their 1st commercial was about breaking out of a 1984 situation! Jobs also has ways to basically brainwash people on their computer, tv, and now their phone. I probably sound like a raving lunatic, but one day they will look back at this and see that I was right. Well the answer to your question is the world driving itself to an end the answer is yes. In physics, according to the nature of matter everything is going towards chaos because chaos is the most stable of state. In other words if u have chaos u have stability but if you order things then matter is not in its most stable state and well tend to go towards stability hence chaos.
Mind boggling isn't it but true. In life no way because as living things our fisrt instinct is towards and foremost survival. So your instinct or the way you think will direct you never towards your own destruction.
However life like they say is like a wheel sometimes you are on top other days you are at the bottom. Everyone will experience it no matter what. You just have to give life a chance and you can see god's intention for life is such a wonder even with it's misery and as such. Cheer up there are others far worse than you am sure, for example the bush people in australia or africa, have almost next to nothing yet they can teach us how to be happy as they are.

It's not all doom and gloom. OK. maybe alot of gloom, and a fair amount of doom, but your challenge is to rise above it and do your part in making the world a better place to live. It starts with people like you and me. And maybe your friends and their friends and so on and so on and so on, otherwise we all just end up with too much worry, fear and anxiety. Easier said than done. But to feel better, we all have to start somewhere, sometime. The sooner, the better.
Katie, there isn't a single day that goes by that I dont think about going back to church, and getting my heart "Right" with the Lord again, because of all of the extreme changes, happening so rapidly mind you!! Yes, I totally agree with you!! If its not the wheather, and "Global Warming" its new strictor laws, as if the "New World Order" really is going to come to pass!! I mean even in my apartments alone, their cracking down on bikes, in the bike racks!! My gosh how strict can you get!! If they need working on, they left notes, to either get them fixed or they are going to do away with them!! Then, all of these laws cracking down so hard, makes me remember the tape this one woman made after she quit working for our Government!! You want to talk about EXACTLY, what she said is coming to pass, even before it did, she mentioned the camera's in the traffic signals being really for anyone who doesn't take the New World Order, so they can focus in on you as you try to leave town, and so forth, and they will say that there for tickets, and speeders, but they really aren't.. For now they will be, (this woman said) but down the line it'll be strictly for those who try to flee from the New World Order! My EX and I couldn't even sleep that night we watched this video, we were so scared!! And my friend who let us borrow it, told us we could make a copy, but not to mention any of this to anyone, right.. Well within a couple of days of seeing this movie, she made, I started to seeing the black helicopters, and noticeing the black vans, and cars, and my gosh then within 5-6 years of seeing this movie they put those traffic signal's in the intersections!! She mentioned, all of the camera's and all the places they are, and how they already have underground prison's made for the American People should they rebell against this!! That 2 trains coming in to the center of the United States had military tanks on them, and these tanks were not for WAR, in other countries, it was for the American people, who rebel... That they will have a missile shot to warn with a stun groups of people, who rebel, and the next one is to kill them with ! You want to talk about freakin' me & my ex, completely out! So, yes, I'm trying as hard as I possibly can to get my heart ready for Heaven, because I think Jesus is coming for His church sooner than any of us realize! I feel the same way. We're in a mess and so is much of the rest of the world, and I don't see any easy way out. So, yeah, I agree, and it's scary.
Yes, I've been watching Planet Earth it's a 5 disc series on earth. I realized Ethopia was once a lush tropical land, now it's barren&volcanic. As you process this I realized the barren process is taken over much of the continents. And guess what?? We are the ones doing it. God brought about the 40 days&nights of rain which recreated the earth. I recently heared we will die from fire. Well global warming is effecting our continents already.
