Please give me an example of a dog's superiority to a robot.?
What I'm looking here is for a specific example, as opposed to an emotional response . Thank you.

how about - a real dog is able to :
1. give wet licks that can be felt both physically and emotionally by the owner.
2. able to play catch even if the ball is thrown into water.
3. able to smell and track-down scents of people, things etc.
4. able to listen, learn and follow.
5. --- this might be an emotional response but --- i'll give it a try - able to just be with you silently - and just do nothing or just look at you, and most of your worries, stress seem to just go away . :)

Depends on what type of robot it is. If it's a dog type robot as I'm assuming, then there's a number of things. With our current technology, you can't program a robot dog to bark when an intruder comes into your house. Nor can you train that robot dog to bite the living hell out of someone's ankles who might be trying to steal your things.
robots cant communicate on a personal basis whereas dogs can. Dogs can learn things to suit the needs of their owner ( whether they want protection or a pet)
Sense of smell far outstrips any machine extant.
The organization of energy in a living creature is fourth and fifth level complexity, whereas, the level of energy constructs in a robot are only third level energy complexity.

Although a robot's software can allow it to adapt to changing situations, it cannot "guess" or make intuitive leaps to come to a non-linear conclusion.
I doubt that a robot could curl up on your bed at night and make you feel like you still have a best friend
A dog is loyal to it's owner, whereas a robot is "loyal" to whomever has control of the "remote". A dog will protect its owner and some breeds even will die to protect it's owner - a robot cannot and even if it could be programmed as such, human hands could re-program it. There is no substitute for a dog's hearing and sense of smell. And you really can't eliminate the "emotional" differences if you want to do a true comparison.
A specific example is: My dog got ran over and died.
I'm sure if you ran over a robot, it could probably be rebuilt.
