Why would someone who thinks about suicide want to help others not to commit suicide?
Answer:
Because the one who wants to do it is totally oblivious to what their own suicide will do to the people around them and they are only thinking about themselves. But when someone around them, whether it be a friend, someone they love, or just an acquaintance comes in to play, the can see the whole picture for how things are gonna be when it all falls down. I'm right about that too. I went through that suicide session for about a year but then when a girl in my school hung herself and I saw the way it affected peopl ethat didnt even really know her I though of how massive the damage of mine could be to my family and friends. Now I feel that I was really stupid for ever being so selfish and even considering it. All it takes is explaining the whole picture to the one considering because they cant see it on their own at this time they are going through. Hope I helped.

To make them feel wanted.
Maybe they are holding on to a little ray of light. There's a chance they have considered it. They are giving the person they are helping and themselves reasons not to.
Because people who think about sucide, think alot. Their mind usually comes up with a lot of crazy stuff. And some people can realize after thinking about sucide, that its not the answer.
It would be a proxy therapy for themselves. They are not only convincing whom ever not to do it but they are convincing themselves at the same time...
