How to stop being shy?
Answer:
Being quiet is ok... unless it makes you unhappy when you want to talk to people and can't.
I was shy throughout school. It took me a long time to get over it. For me, being shy was a way to stay in control of social situations where I felt overwhelmed. It took a long time to realize that was just a coping mechanism I learned when I was a child. Now, I am quiet when I want to be, and talkative when I want to be, or need to be.
Improving self-esteem is important. You can do that through affirmations and selecting friends who will encourage you to take risks and support you. If I were you, I would join a debate society if you're in school, or maybe take acting. There is also a program called "Toastmasters" which gives people experience in public speaking.
Don't try to get along with everyone. Many, probably most, people are jerks. Pick your friends carefully.
face it, sit down and have a talk with them, find something to say
theres nothing wrong with you. you're probably just quiet because there really is nothing to say! it's actually very possible! everybody finds you sexy, everybody likes you so just let them all talk 4you...
speak ur mind and don't care what pps think.. if they laugh laugh with them
I know of a Pastor- in his mid 30's , who is very outgoing, dynamic, great people person- who when he was in high school was very introverted- very shy - but God brought him out of his shell...it does happen.
