Would you fire a guy who is always unhappy but dont harm anyone?
Answer:
No, everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his sadness is caused from lack of money, and the job could get him back on track & he would be a very dedicated asset to the company. You never know what someone is going through until you ask. Maybe he just lost a loved one, or went through a divorce, if he's not bothering anyone & being productive let it be. Try to do things to help him be more comfortable & welcome, I bet he surprises you in the long run.
If he's making everyone else unhappy. Its only fair to your other employees that you get rid of him.
no; maybe hes got a good reason to be unhappy. =[ dont hurt him anymore than he is already.
Only if it was affecting his work performance. I would also make sure he was ok and ask if he wanted help with anything.
If it affects his or others productivity yes.
You can't fire some one simply because they're not happy. But if someone had to go, and it was between a happy guy and an unhappy guy.well then...
yes i would because i want to see smile on people not sadness
nooooooooo but i will try to cheer him up or make him stay a little away from others as sadness is contagious!!
It depends on whether he was a productive worker or a good influence to start with.
No, but if he was having a negative influence on the other workers, I'd isolate him and have a discussion with him about his mood, you never know maybe he needs someone to care, maybe you could be that person. I know I would appreciate a boss a hundred times more if they were truely concerned about my well being. Maybe you could do something to help him? Courtney pretty much hit the nail on the head. : )
HOW IS HIS WORK ?
is he useful to the company?
those are the first questions I would ask.
