Do advertisers really think we listen to commercials that scream into our livingrooms?
Answer:
I think advertisers now who they are marketing to, what specific demographic, gender, sexual-orientation, age.
Though I know I don't pay attention to advertisements on the TV or on the Web, viral advertising I think affects everyone. For example, if one person gets something like those Heeley roller skate shoes a couple of years ago, eventually other people will buy them and then virally news of the product will spread even if just one person saw the commercial or advertisement promoting the product.
I think for some people mass-media advertising definitely affects them, especially people who live in low-income areas. I think advertising intrinsically has to do with people wanting to "belong" to a group and not be left out so they will group together in any way they can.
Thats what I think.
I dont, and i dont know if they realize it
i use this time to learn and then because they yelled at me I rush and go purchased what they told me...if I don't, they may come through my tv and get me!!
well, on the surface, you'd think that...
but most people will use the bathroom, change laundry, go to the kitchen.. or whatever during a commercial.. this is a way to ensure that you're still able to hear the goods they're telling you that you need and can't live without (though you have most of your life).
I mute them all. I do the opposite of what they want us too.
leave the room.
our family usually mutes them because the volume on them is twice as loud as the program we were watching. It's very annoying and you would think the advertisers would realize that if they didn't raise the volume, we would probably not mute, that way getting their message. Oh well.
they are hoping that, at best, you'll watch the commercial and make up your mind to buy the product. Less than that, they'll accept you keep watching it, but don't make the purchasing decision (yet!) Beyond that, its ok if you don't really pay attention because subliminally, the message is getting in whether you know it or not.
SORRY CAN`T HEAR YOU TO BUSY WATCHING COMMERCIALS
I mute every commercial.
Those that pay attention to the commercials are probably the same kind of people that stand on line for up to 4 days for an i-phone, LOL.
If people didnt listen to them advertisers wouldnt bother making them. They must know what they are doing because commercials are a multi-million dollar industry.
I either mute them or change the channel...well except for the cows on the California Cheese commercials. They tickle me.
Well I must say, the advertisers are fighting a lost battle now that we have remotes and mute! I mute most of the commercials. Some commercials are actually funny enough to watch.
I actually like commercials, but it doesn't mean I lack/have no intelligence--quite the contrary in fact! I tend to dissect commercials--what I like about them, what I don't, what would make them better.I really should get into marketing.
we don't mute them as there is no way out if one calculate in serials - adds have a good percentage
it influences our choice while we shop the brand we hear about frequently unconsciously we tend to hve faith in it and ultimately buy it.(leave apart highly intellectuals).i am talking about layman which is in majority.
do check this out n you wil realize that i am not wrong
anyways good topic for carrying out survey
I always mute all commercials and ignore them..
I absolutely hate it! I'm constantly watching Netflix instead of TV because I hate the commercials. I know they just jack up the sound on them so we can hear them as we're rustling through the fridge. If we could get rid of commercials it would rock, but then we'd have to pay for television.
