Is disappointment slowing you down?

Ever notice that the older you get the more disappointments in life you face? Maybe it's just me. Maybe I tend to have a more negative outlook on things. How is a person suppose to be optimistic and enjoy life when it seems to always go the opposite of what they expect or want? Do you just put on some happy music and drift off into LaLa land and smile and sing along with the other crazies in the world? lol

Answer:
I was the exact same way. I was getting so tired of working my *** off and having nothing to show for it. I was disappointed with my life and myself. And the worse part was I thought it was never going to change. You need to get enthusastic about something. I took up photography in my spare time. Try not to overwhelm yourself. For me, that meant cutting back on college classes (I'm only 21) and work. Also, don't isolate yourself, but at the exact same time make alone time for only you. Indulge yourself. I turn off my cell for the day and walk on the beach or take a hike with just my camera and my dog. Try to find a quiet, thoughtful friend that understands how you feel and is insightful and respectful of your views. My boyfriend is my that person for me and it makes me feel so much better to know I'm not alone. We all feel like that sometimes, it just depends on how you deal with it. I found that you can sometimes turn a situation around depending on how you handle it. Stop expecting anything from people (unfortunately you'll only be disappointed) and instead expect things from yourself. If you feel like you don't accomplish enough during the day, make a list the night before of all you'd like to accomplish the next day. (It worked miracles for me. Basically, do some serious soul searching and find out why you feel this way. Then make the steps to correct it. Hopefully, it will be that simple, if not try talking to a counselor. (Sorry, had to had it, I'm a counseling pyschology major!) Good luck!
when you know less its easier to be happy. Sometimes what you dream about and what something is in reality can be 2 entirely different things.
