Yes 100%. we get a few years of childhood before we are sent off to school...then we work until the age of 65...then have 15-20 years of retirement and then die! what a waste of living time!

Yes i retired in august 2004 and only now work from home when I feel like it and intend in spending the rest of my life enjoying the better things life can experience,travel, good food and family,

it really get me down just thinkin about what i could be doing than going to work. i could be on the other side of the world having fun. or in bed , getting pissed with my mate alsorts. but at the end of the day we need money to do theses things.

No.. You need to look at the larger picture.
It is required for the survival of the human race. Say if farmers stopped working.. How do you expect to get groceries? They will eventually die of hunger because they will run out of money and so will all the people since they are inevitably dependent on the produce for food.
Bottom line you do what you do so that you can earn your next meal and your service is useful to some one else in one way or the other.
Only if you hate your work. If you're lucky enough to do a job you like, or are able to turn it around to see the positive side of it, it can be a creative outlet.
Having said that, "Primum vivere, dende laborare"--means work to live, don't live to work.
I seriously can not understand people who slave 80 hours a week in the financial sector, for example, making money for some fat cat. They may get big salaries but their souls are slowly shriveling up and they have no time for their families or themselves.
Cultivate your inner life as well.
