Counseling Psychology?

I want to be a counseling psychologist, but I don't know what department I need to be in in college. So, what department would I be in and what is the name of the degree I need to become a Counseling Psychologist?

Answer:
As an undergraduate you would want to major or minor in psychology, then apply to graduate programs in clinical psychology or counseling.
For undergraduate you would major in psychology. Then you MUST go on and get your Masters and that would be in psychology as well, However there would be a specialization on research or clinical. You would want clinical.

Good luck! :)
Some schools have a masters in counseling. You can also go the social worker route to a counseling job. Check with your school
Speak with someone in the office of undergraduate admissions at the university or college of your choice and get a college catalogue of course offerings available to compare course offerings. Finally, you should meet with an advisor in the department you are considering for a face -to-face discussion of your course goals and objectives before signing up for a major. Schools of higher education may vary in course nomenclature.
