Can someone answer this?

i am very fearless when it comes to work related things, i can do anything, but i cant drive a car! i need to get my drivers for work, but i feel petrified to even try, i think my mom traumatized me when i was younger trying to get my drivers, how can i get over it?

Answer:
I didn't get a driver's license until I was 38. My father refused to be a part of it and my mother never drove. I had two husbands that could not teach me without making me a nervous wreck. When I decided I really wanted to learn, I hired a professional teacher and had my license in six hours. I hired the same instructor to teach my daughter when she truned 16. As far as I'm concerned it's the best way. You won't learn other people's bad habits
Find someone you trust (not your mom) to help you through driving. I was and still am petrified about driving when my mother is in the car. You need practice, practice, practice and an empty parking lot is the best place for it. That and the less traveled residential streets.
Realize your fear, accept it, love it. I mean live with the your feelings, and then give it a try.

What is fear but fear itself?

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Everyone is petrified when they go for a driving test. Be sure you are familiar with the car you are taking for the test. Drive around the area you will be testing to familiarize yourself with the area and the traffic. It doesn't help any when you have to wait for ages at the testing center, but you do. You may fail one or two things in the written and the driving test, but you will get your driver's license anyway. I couldn't park and I missed a question on the written, but I still got my license. Now I can park and I have remembered the answer to the one I missed. Once I had to use the car and my daughter needed it, so I hurried down and took my written test for a renewal license. When I went in people were filling out their tests, I finished mine quickly, and took my test up and the others were still filling theirs out, and I got them all right 100%. So, you see you can worry yourself into failing. Try not to let your mind dwell on it and think about something else. Good luck, you can do it, look at all the drivers out there, especially bad ones, who have driver's licenses. The testers are usually pretty nice and are not there to fail you but to see what you can do. You can start and stop and turn corners, watch the lights and the speed limit signs, don't follow too closely. Use your rearview mirrors and be sure to signal. I think you will do okay.
I have no clue but good luck with that
Practice, practice, practice.
I worked my way up gradually -
first a bicycle
then a moped
then a motorcycle
However, it took me 22 years to make that last leap of faith from a mototcycle to a car. People would tell me that if I could ride a motorcycle, I could drive a car - but I didn't see the correlation.
Even the terms for the two activities were different - RIDE a motorcycle, DRIVE a car. Maybe my cycling experience could help me learn to ride a HORSE easily, but DRIVE a CAR? NO WAY!

Then something happened. My husband had to go out of town for about 3 months and left the family car behind with me. I found myself faced with three possibillities:
1. Let it sit out on the street and gather tickets till it got towed away. (I had no off-street parking available)
2. Sell it
3. Start driving it.

The day after he left, I drove it to work.
I didn't do too badly. I misjudged a corner and ran over the curb once, but other than that I had no problems.
There was a lot of road construction in my area at that time, so there were a lot of places where traffic was slowed to a crawl. The slower speeds made it easier to learn and get comfortable with it. When I went to take my driving test, I passed with "flying colors" as they say.

Once I got a taste of the freedom that goes with owning and driving your own car, I have never looked back.

If I could do it, you can, too. GOOD LUCK!
