I'm cutting back my work to part-time and am being marginalized. Is this normal? What is one to do?

Answer:
Of course if you are a part time worker you are actually marginalizing yourself. Why would you expect any different reaction. This is the real cause of the "inequity" between men and women in the workplace. Women take time off for personal reasons, childbirth, raising children, etc., then wonder why they make less money and have less advancement than men.

There's nothing wrong with taking time off, or cutting back to part-time. Just accept the fact that your status has changed.
