What do the harry potter novels teach children? courage and friendship or make black magic attractive ?
Answer:
I think Harry Potter doesn't teach you anything. If it does, it might teach you to disobey adults and get yourself into trouble. But I've read every novel of Harry Potter and seen every movie and I don't learn any valuable lessons from them. It's just pure entertainment, if you ask me. You can justify it all you want and say it's about bravery and friendship and standing up for what you believe in but what story DOESN'T have a little bit of that in it?
I think that the people who answered that Harry Potter books taught lessons about courage are the best answers. Courage is found by Harry himself. Harry shows courage by facing Voldermort and by standing up to his objectors. These books also teach about frienship. In this book, friendship teaches that having good friends but maybe not so many and being popular is very important in life.
the underlying theme has nothing to do with magic, that's just the forum ms rowling uses to tell her story. the potter novels are simply coming of age stories, where harry and friends learn how to overcome obstacles, and become strong adults, capable of great things. since the genre is fantasy, magic is just the way they do it.
It teaches Friendship, courage to follow what you believe in to be true and right.
Black Magic bah bunch of garbage theres only Magic and how you use it. Hypothetically of course. Its a power source that does not care how its used just used. Anyway...
Feel the book teaches that you stand up for your friends don't cower down to adversity and standing together as friends can get you further, and believe in yourself.
The Black Magic is a Church thing.
i believe it teaches us that life is so much beter when you have good friends to help to see you through bad times and hardships and that friends are one thing you can never have too many of.
I don't have an idea but I don't let my kids to watch it.
It really isn't meant to teach anything in my opinion. The books are simply written for entertainment. You would have to ask someone specifically what they got out of it. As for me, purely entertainment.
