It makes people feel important. They like the challenge of being chosen as being a Best Answer, feeling like a pseduo-expert in something (or real expert, as the case may be) and having a couple minutes of fame. It also staves off loneliness to be able to connect with other people.
I do it to pass the time at work.
Why do people spend time asking questions.
I find it interesting and entertaining to see what other people from around the world are thinking about and talking about. I think it's a great way to share ideas and opinions.
It is very addictive! I'm hooked. I could care less about the points, but all the rest are valid. I only answer questions in topics in which I am interested, while my boss may say I have better work to do (... :-/) and wouldn't mind chatting with some new people (I work at home so have very little interaction with others).

I usually do it to kill time while I'm waiting to have my questions answered, and also I truly like to help others when I feel I have information that may be useful to them.
Because they're basically idiots for even reading the drivel posted here. I'm getting out as fast as I can. Every man and woman for themselves. Yeah, it's a weird occupation isn't it? I don't find too many questions that I have a complete answer for, the rest are just personal opinions and I hope they are taken that way.
Yes to the interest in general topics. I like to feel i can help someone in a small way. The points won't win me a car or a trip around the world, so they don't really matter. It's a way to interact with others so it I'm sure it eases loneliness sometimes :( I do have other work to do, I just don't want to do it. I also find questions that reflect on something that i would like to know so I click on to see what other people have to say so it kills two birds with one stone, so to speak.
I do it when I don't have anything else pressing to get done... I like to see what other people are thinking and worrying about, and I like to do my best to help them and share what I know and think. I like answering the homework help questions because I feel like they keep me sharp! :)

I do it because people need to get feed back on the questions they have, no matter how silly a question may seem to others. One of the first lessons you learn when you start school is there is no such thing as a stupid question. This is a way for people to ask questions without the fear that others may think it is a stupid question.
Bored at work
I do it because I learn things once in a while, especially about computers that I didn't know by reading answers. Also it helps pass time when I don't feel like reading or doing something else.

its not only that people have no better work but some people really wanna help other people by answering their questions to satisfy them. coz i know it even bothers me if i have a question that nobody can answer. in this way FunQA.com helps me a lot but its just time consuming.
i find it intreseting and knowledgeable too...
different people do it 4 different reasons ...i do it coz i have ntn better to do...also sometimes it feels gud 2 give advice to some1 who really needs it.initially i used to do it 4 points...but now i hardly care about points.and ya...it IS addictive...so cheers to FunQA.com

Some people do it to help others with their problems, some do it for pass time, some do it to forget stress and some do it to earn points. Thanks to all these reasons FunQA.comS has such a large network. Meeting new people and getting to know more about their thoughts could be another reason. The fact is that its fun (whatever cause it maybe for) and thats what makes FunQA.com so interactive.
