Why is it bad dreams can affect us so much when we know their not real?
Answer:
because a bad dream, could be something that did happen.
And also, some people believe that a dream is an insight to the future.
this question is just like asking. "why do some people believe in ghosts, when we know that their not real?"
The feelings you experience during the dream feel so real. Your body even responds to it and that's why you wake up with your heart beating fast and maybe sweating.
cos they actully happen in our heads and we picture them as if they really happened in our lives or sumat like that
Because our brains activate the same emotions and make us tired and afraid for no reason that is of benefit.
When you're having them you believe them to be real!
I feel that it is because the imagination is such a powerful tool that the brain makes it seem as if it is real when we are having them. Just as when you are having a good dream and you wake up at the most inconvienient part. You wake up and you are mad because you couldn't find out what happens next. The imagination makes it seem real by creating an atmosphere and people with minds of their own, but its all really your own mind. It's like you occupy yourself while you sleep. It sucks though cause we cant just wake up in real life.
i know that happens to me all the time..when i have a bad dream...i keep on thinking of it..and get scared every time i think of them..although i keep on telling myself..just a dream..just a dream..."that didn't actually happen"...
because humans are scared of the unknown and a dream has so many explainations, humans cant fully understand them. and fear is one of the strongest feelings we hav so it affects us so hard.
Nightmares are our alternate reality.. they take place in that alternate universe that we are lucky enough to not live in, full time.
Pipo say dreams are the opposite of reality but we still feel like they are real because they just run thru our minds like water in a stream......
weird huh?
When we have a bad dream it is a sign that our subconscious is troubled, that is never a good thing. There is probably an issue somewhere that needs sorting.
Dreams are indeed very real, but their contents may be transfigurated reality and premonitions. Dreams may have a great meaning in our life. The family of Jesus is reported to have been very much helped thru dreams where an angel told them what they should do.
Dreams seem to me to be a sort of "digestion" in our brain of the impressions from the events that we have experienced and of the things and concerns that highly engage our thoughts.
We may get bad dreams, and movemented dreams, thru bad or highly laborious brain digestion of our experiences and we may be very much affected by them. We may get premonitory dreams thru the digestion that our brain makes of our strong wishes and of our anxieties.
Because, even though the events in a dream are generally not real, the EMOTIONS they generate ARE.
It is my belief that we are not in the body when we dream, so the actual dream, itself, does not get recorded in the neural pathways of our brains. When we awaken, the dream is lost unless we instantly think about it and consciously go over the details of it. When we do that, those thoughts about the dream - NOT the dream, itself - are what is being preserved as memories within our neural pathways.
Emotions are more abstract - and more lingering than memories. The emotional patterns from a dream linger after the memory of it has evaporated. I have often awakened not remembering my dream, but knowing, just from the emotional residue, whether it was happy, sad, scary or emotionally neutral.
It is my belief that it's the residual emotions from our dreams, moreso than the events and contents of those dreams, themselves, that affect us so much.
Because some times our dreams reflect our biggest fears, even some fears that we never knew we had.
Reality dreams are real its the sub conscious that muddle things, in other words the mind clearing out the rubbish.
Affect of these are devastating, as i had a dream two nights ago and i got so stressed in it that i woke up with a blinding headache and in a nasty mood,so that tells how reality dreams affect us.
Because we are superstitious and emotional creatures.
