What's the difference between have a good self esteem and being self centered?

I was just wondering...

Answer:
Self Esteem and being Self Centered are two very different things. Self Esteem is ones view of one's self. For example people with low self esteem often view themselves in a negative way hence the classical syptoms of low self esteem of depression, attention seeking behavior, passivity, ect. Self Centered behaviors are marked by the "it's all about me mentality" and ironically people who are often self centered have low self esteem because they are constantly trying to please themselves over others because they lack the ability to validate themselves. One the other hand a person with high self esteem doesn't need to be self centered in order to feel good about themselves because they genuinely know they are wonderful. People with high self-esteem are the people that are easy to get along with, non-clingy, non-confrontational, non-selfish, confident people that exist in our lives.
Pride and arrogance is self centered. Being secure in yourself and abilities is good self esteem.
It is feeling good about youself with out getting a attitude about it to others,
It's one thing to be proud and vain, but it's completely different to be confident and sure of yourself.
